Zweigelt 在1922年被培育出來後，從白酒當道的奧地利產區異軍突起。最具識別度的是它濃郁的黑櫻桃香氣，還有聖羅蘭葡萄賦予的紫羅蘭高貴氣息，再複雜層疊進肉桂、覆盆莓的香辣當中，單寧順口，酒體呈現寶石般透亮的淡紫紅，色澤相當輕盈。收尾的味道是悠長的苦味巧克力，餘韻中長。若讓它提早一小時醒酒，櫻桃與漿果風味會更加馥郁濃厚。因為是新的品種，所以適合飲用的年份較侷限，就算在維也納也少有店家販售。和牛肉麵一起會是個跳脫框架的 Style。
